My first mitten! I love the ribbing on the bottom. Soon there will be a snow flake stitched into the top, too.
One down, one to go! The NEW orange and black scarf. Very snuggly. I think she'll like it. Orange and black are very stiking colors, but there were so many times I wished our school colors were something pretty. I'm so jealous of all the blue and silver schools out there...
I am a graduate student in the biomedical sciences. During Fall 2008, I was in the process of taking my comprehensive exam (a big test and presentation to see if you qualify to do research for a PhD). One night, I was going CRAZY after reading seemingly the millionth journal article of the day. I decided I needed a new hobby. A quick trip to Barnes and Nobles later, and I was a new knitter! My very first project is pictured above. Some of you Stitch n’ Bitch-ers may recognize it as the first project in Stitch ‘n Bitch: The Knitters Handbook. My family may recognize it as a variation on the scarf they all got for Christmas :) A few short months (and many wasted hours of lab time) later, I’m starting a knitting blog! As a new knitter, I’m really hoping that by posting my works-in-progress that I can get some feedback and suggestions. I hope you enjoy reading this site as much as I enjoy making the projects!
Nice mittens! I want to see the fish hat with eyes attached, though!
